Unfinished Red Oak #1 Common Grade Hardwood Flooring is known for it’s warmth, stability and wide variety of finishing options make it a decorators dream. Red Oak accepts stains well and may be coated with either oil based or water based finishes. Red Oak #1 Common has slight variations in natural color, and is notable for having many growth rings on each board. When looking at #1 Common you will find an occasional character such as a small knot or burl within this floor. You will find that #1 Common is more prominent in color than Select & Better but with much less character than #2 Common.
Unfinished Red Oak #1 Common Solid Hardwood Flooring’s grain is classified as primarily even. This means that the grain of the wood flooring will be consistent throughout. Variations in color are very limited over time, even if it is exposed to intense light. Ordinary wear and tear is hardly noticeable due to red oak’s open grain and natural reddish color
